Surviving the second wave:

“ET phone home”. Sadly that is all we can do while restrictions and lockdown are in place, with the latest being having to wear masks.

It is natural to feel disconnected from loved ones and friends. There is something unsettling in having to go through this again, making us feel vulnerable and a sense of being controlled and with masks wearing.

It gives me the feeling of looking like an Alien.

You can do it.JPG

Five tips that may help you cope over the coming weeks:

1/ Staying active is vital for releasing the feel good hormone. Set yourself a challenge in staying fit. Try to avoid lounging around at home and binge eating. Instead try to stick to healthier food choices and a routine in preparation when lockdown ends.

2/ Be kind to yourself by recognising that “You matter”. Allowing yourself to hear positive thoughts about yourself and what is important to your wellbeing can assist our self-worth, especially while having to wear masks.

3/ Stay connected via social media, phone, whatever ensures you don’t feel isolated. Check in on a friend or loved one. You could send a postcard or a letter. Whatever it takes to connect with others in creative ways while not being physically allowed to visit.

4/ Set yourself 3 achievable intents to help keep you focused.

5/ Learn something new on-line. It is amazing when you try something new how it can bring so much satisfaction to our self-esteem.
